Anene stated that the arrest followed intelligence gathered about the three-man gang operating in Wurukum, North Bank and Modern Market areas of Makurdi.
She said, “The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police Command, Wale Abass, ordered the trail and arrest of these armed robbers/cultists on 2/8/2022.
“Fortunately, on 26/8/2022 at about 1600hrs, the said suspects: Fanen Wever, Philip Adanyi, aka Baron, and Albert Akor, aka J-Boy, all male, of no fixed addresses were arrested at their hideout within Logo 1, Wurukum.”
She listed items recovered from the suspects to include one locally made pistol loaded with three rounds of live ammunition, wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp, and other illicit drugs and charms.
Anene added that the suspects had confessed to the crimes.
