The police have arrested three suspects, Ogieva W. Enadiakhe, 40, Esosa Aigbiremwen, 40, and Osarentin Idahosa Williams, 39, over alleged murder, cultism and possession of arms in Edo State.
The suspects were arrested by the operatives of the Edo State Police Command while investigating a case of conspiracy and alleged murder of one Elvis.
Parading the suspect, the command’s spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, said the operatives of the anti-cultism unit while conducting an investigation into a case of conspiracy, cultism, murder of one Elvis Ikponayusi, attempted murder of one Monday Ajayi. Austin Idemudia and Victor Igbinoba arrested the suspects at Ayen Community Benin City.
According to him, the suspects were alleged to have shot and killed Elvis Ikponayusi with a double-barrel gun in 2022 while in a town hall meeting in Ayen Community.

He added that the suspect within the same period attempted to shoot and kill Monday Ajayi, Austin Idemudia and Victor Igbinoba.
Chidi said the suspects made statements and denied their involvement, but the victims who were there and of the same family and community identified them as the suspects.
