The Rivers State Police Command said it has arrested three female officers involved in the extortion of motorists in Port Harcourt.
The spokesperson of the police command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, said the erring officers were arrested following a coordinated monitoring patrol by operatives from the Commissioner of Police team, CP Monitoring Unit on October 29, 2024.
Koko said the operation, conducted under the Rumuokoro Flyover around 3pm, led to the arrest of Inspector Sarah Anendei, Inspector Caroline Promise, and Inspector Christiana Jatau, who she said were caught engaging in a corrupt practice against innocent motorists under the flyover.
She said Inspectors Promise and Jatau were found conducting unprofessional behaviour while out of uniform, saying that their behaviour contravened police standards.
