Police arrest 200 suspects in Bauchi

The State Police Commissioner Mohammed Ladan explained the success recorded by the command between January and December 2013 in a statement issued yesterday in Bauchi.
He said the command arrested over 200 suspects comprising of demonic Sara Suka, cattle rustlers, armed robbers, adding that the suspects had volunteered useful information to the Police detectives regarding their notorious activities, while many were charged to court.
Ladan said the command  recovered 99 different arms that included  “23 Ak 47 assault rifle,  36 various fabricated guns, 13 locally made pistols, one fabricated rocket launcher,  one K2 rifle,   one Revolver Pistol,  one SMG rifle, two unserviceable pistol, 21 brand new single barrel guns and one Barreta Pistol,
The commissioner said, “2983 different ammunitions recovered included, 138 rounds of live long ammunition of 7.62mm, 2,258 live ammunition of 7.62mm of AK 47 rifle,214 LAR ammunition, 59 live ammunition of K2 rifle of 5.59mm.,16 round of live ammunition for revolver pistol, one 9mm live ammunition, 293 live cartridges, four live cartridges of fabricated rocket launchers, adding that the command have recovered five undetonated improvised explosive devices, and five tins of unexploded improvised explosives.
Commissioner of police said the successes recorded were made possible through information availed to the police from well-meaning members of the public.
He assured that the command was prepared to ensure that law abiding citizens enjoy the New Year celebration peacefully.
