The police in Oyo State have arrested two men, Samuel Olaoluwa and Adegboyega Afeez, who specialise in hijacking trailers on the Lagos-Ibadan highway.
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, who paraded the suspects in Ibadan on Tuesday, said they attacked a driver and diverted a Mack truck which was later recovered at a location in Oyo town.

He said, “Credible information was received at the Monitoring Unit, Eleyele, Ibadan, that some members of a criminal gang who have been terrorising trailer drivers on the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway and other parts of Oyo State had hijacked a Mack trailer conveying a container loaded with animal feed, attacked the driver and diverted the vehicle to an unknown location.
“Sequel to this information, a team of operatives attached to this unit swung into action and after an intense manhunt and intelligence gathering, two of the armed robbers were arrested in their hideout at Oyo town. The diverted Mack trailer with the container was later recovered at a hidden location in Oyo town.”
