Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested two suspects over alleged murder and armed robbery in Edo State.
The suspects, Daniel Amuzoga (33) from Ukwuani in Delta State, and Christopher Omiose (30) from Esan land in Edo State, were alleged to have killed a truck driver, his conductor and stolen his truck containing 45,000 litres of premium motor spirit.
The command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, said one Nwoye Ezeako, reported at Okhuaihe Police Division that his truck driver and the conductor were attacked along the Benin-Agbor Road by Okhuaihe Bridge by four robbers armed with guns and cutlasses.
He said the truck with registration number ENU 376 XU was transporting 45,000 litres of petrol from Lagos State to Onitsha, Anambra State when the armed robbers who mounted the expressway shot the driver on his chest and wounded the conductor and robbed them of their belongings.

Chidi said the police stormed the scene and rushed the driver and his conductor to Aigbogun Hospital but were confirmed dead on arrival.
He said later the police, while using technical intelligence, arrested two of the suspects at Ehor community while selling petrol to people from the robbed truck.
He said the suspects are assisting the police in the investigation.
