The police have arrested a 50-year-old man, Okojie Prince, and Aruka Uche 40, over alleged theft of two electricity transformers and 5 flex cable wires.
City and Crime report that Uche was arrested for reportedly receiving the stolen items from the suspects.
It was gathered that the suspect stole the 300kva and 100kva transformers along with two drums of 2.5mm flex cables at No. 8, Idugboe Estate, off Sapele road, Benin-City, on 11 August 2024.
The command spokesperson, Moses Yamu , said the suspect accomplice identified as Ojo is now at large.

He said the suspects “deceitfully gain entrance to No. 8 Idugboe Estate, off Sapele road, Benin-city and made away with the electrical equipment.”
He said the suspect were arrested following diligent investigation by operatives of X-Squad of the command.
He said upon the arrest of Okojie, led operatives to the receiver of the stolen items where all the equipment were recovered.
He said the suspects would be charged to court soon
In an interview with journalists, Okojie said the stealing was masterminded by one Ojo who is at large.
He said “I only hired a vehicle which was used to convey the stolen items to the buyer. It was that buyer that implicated me in the robbery.
