Police arrest 2 for kidnapping in Anambra, recover car

The police in Anambra State have arrested two for kidnapping and terrorising the state and rescued a victim.

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who disclosed this in a statement, said the command recovered a Toyota Sienna from the suspects.

The suspects are Chukwudere Eze (30) from Ogbunka in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state and Raphael Obasi (40) from Arodizuogu in Imo State.

The rescued victim is one Ijideofor Attama (32) from Igboetiti, Enugu State.

Ikenga said Attama was abducted on May 14, at about 10pm on Nnewi Road in his RAV 4 jeep, by a gang of five men.

He said the gang had already demanded N10m ransom from the victim’s family before the victim escaped and alerted security guards in the area.

He also stated that the command had recovered some vehicles abandoned by hoodlums who escaped from a gun battle with a vigilante group around 4pm on May 16, on Ifite Road, Awka.
