The Police in Benue State have arrested 17 suspects for armed robbery and cultism in different locations of the state.
State Commissioner of Police, Mukaddas Garba, paraded the suspects at the Command’s headquarters in Makurdi.

Garba stated that among those apprehended were Jude Danladi Godwin, Jamile Ahmed and Matthew Maiamba all of Nasarawa and Plateau States who conspired and tricked a motorcyclist into a hotel where they drugged him and took away his motorcycle.
He also said that information was received that armed men broke into a house at GRA in Makurdi and made away with an Iphone II Promax, a bag of wrist watches, an infinix phone and transferred the sum of N1million into a fraudulent chipper account created for the purpose.
He stressed that during investigation, Aba Obida and Emmanuel Adakole both students of Benue State University, Makurdi; Mohammad Saad, Aliyu Mohammed and Bekius Timide of different addresses in Makurdi were arrested in connection with the case.
The police commissioner added that N300, 000, the Iphone Il Promax, a bag of wrist watches and Opo phone belonging to the victim were recovered from the suspects.
Similarly, among the suspects was one Usman Aboje of Wadata who was arrested in connection with a robbery case.
Garba said one plasma television, one De-Tech decorder and one extension wire, all suspected to be proceeds from the robbery were recovered from the suspect.
He said the suspects have confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.
