The police in Benue State have disclosed that a total of 131 suspects were arrested for committing various offences in different locations of the state within the past three months.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Madaki, who made the disclosure on Wednesday while briefing newsmen in Makurdi at the command headquarters said the police recovered 32 exhibits and 727 live ammunitions among others within the period between February 22 and May 19, 2021.

The police commissioner further noted that the 131 suspects awaiting trial at the custodial centres are being charged for various offences, including armed robbery, rape, cultism, kidnapping, mischief by fire among others.
Madaki said that in Sankara axis, which was a flashpoint for banditry, the command had established operation and deployment points at Katsina Alabama, Gbor, Tor Donga, Abaji and Anyiin to ensure peace and sanity in the area.
