Police have arrested 12 suspected motorcycle and phone snatchers in Minna, the Niger State capital.
Parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Minna, the spokesperson for the police in the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspects were arrested in the Morris area of Minna.
He gave the names of the suspects as Jibrin Ndako (aka J.boy, 22) of Barkin-Sale, Moh’d Usman (aka Smally, 20) of Sauka-Kahuta, and Kure Musa (25) of Kpakungu Area.
He said in the course of the investigation, the suspects revealed that they had been engaging in stealing motorcycles and snatching handsets, mostly at night within Minna Metropolis such as Barkin-Sale, Kpakungu, Shiroro road, Mandela road, Soje-A, Sauka-Kahuta and its environs.

He said the suspects led the police team to the buyers of mobile phones and gave the names of buyers as Nasiru Moh’d (25) of Obasanjo Commercial Complex, Suleiman Abubakar (34) of 123-Quarters, Baba Ahmadu (30) of Limawa and Murtala Isah (32) of Kuta road.
Abiodun said one of suspects, Labaran of Obasanjo commercial complex, who specialised in deleting IMEI number of stolen phones was still at large.
He said the suspected buyers of stolen motorcycles: Zakari Salihu (20), Sahabi Salihu (25), Bashiru Kabiru (35), Suleiman Tanko (35) and Ismail Umar (26) were arrested in Paiko town.
The PPRO said 21 phones and 3 motorcycles were recovered from the suspects.
