The police in Ogun State have arrested 11 suspected members of a cult group at Ota in Ado-Odo/Ota LGA.
The suspects are Moshood Owolabi, Olayemi Arukudu, Yusuf Olajide, Ibukun Adeoye, Yomi Samson Faruk Salami, Olukunde Isaac, David Nwuzor, Nwanah Samuel, Ogunrinde Ganiyu and Chukwuemeka.

The police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday, said the suspects were arrested following information received at the Sango Ota Division that the suspects who were responsible for series of cult clashes in Sango Ota and its environs were “meeting in house No 13, Ago Adura Street, Ijoko Ota, in preparation for another round of violent attacks.
“On receiving the information, the DPO of Sango Ota, SP Saleh Dahiru, mobilised his men, together with men of the So Safe Corps-Amotekun, as well as men of the civil defense corps, and moved to the scene where seven members of the group were apprehended while others escaped. Four others were later arrested with the assistance of members of the community. They have all confessed being members of the Aiye cult group.
“Recovered from them are weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, Colorado and Bonky.”
