Police arraign 2 for forging examination result

The Osun State Police Command yesterday arraigned two persons, Olawale Waisu and  Oakihena Omolara at a Magistrate Court for forging the result of the Common Entrance examination into secondary school.

The prosecuting officer, Sergeant Adepoju Kayode, told the court that the accused conspired to secure a fake document of Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE), also known as the Common Entrance Examination, for a candidate to secure admission into a secondary school.

The accused are facing a three-count charge of making false documents, forgery and obtaining money from the candidate.

The prosecution said their offences contravened sections 519(9), 467 and 421 of the criminal code cap 34 Vol. 2 of Laws of Osun State, Nigeria, 2002.

The accused pleaded not guilty and their counsel, Daramola Olalekan prayed the court grant them bail.

In his ruling, Magistrate Abayomi Ajala granted bail of N250,000 and adjourned the case till February 23, 2021.
