The Minister of State for Police Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has expressed optimism over the emergence of a world-class Nigeria Police Force (NPF) that is fit for the 21st Century, inclusive, community based, intelligence-led, and technologically driven.

 This was contained in a briefing note personally signed by the minister to commemorate the one year anniversary of the current administration.

 The minister commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his giant strides in securing the country and boosting the economy.

 According to her, she had conducted a thorough scan of the policing environment, aligning it with international best practices.

 “The ministry is also working on drafting a national policy document on community policing that would regulate and streamline the activities of all stakeholders as well as set out operational guidelines for effective community policing in Nigeria, and the recent launch of the Young and Secure Project in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development,” she said.

 She said in her bid to also ensure world best practices, she has had engagements with multiple stakeholders such as development partners, embassies, private security organisations and civil society organisations (CSOs) among others.
