Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, has expressed joy at Plateau United Football Club’s 2-1 victory over Esperance of Tunisia in the CAF Champions league match played at the National Stadium Abuja last Sunday.
Lalong who was at the stadium to cheer the team to victory, said he was impressed by the quality of play and team work, which saw Plateau United coming from one goal behind to beat Esperance 2-1.

Speaking on the match, the governor said the government will give all the support needed by the team to continue the good work in the return leg in Tunis.
He hailed the coach and management of the club for doing well to ensure the team continues to make Plateau State and Nigeria proud.
Among the dignitaries who watched the football encounter included the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare and NFF President, Plateau State Commissioner for Sports, Commissioner for Works and Chief of Staff to DG APC Presidential Campaign Council, Yakubu Dati.
