Former champions Plateau United have snapped a three-game winless run to defeat Doma United 4-0 in the early fixtures of match day 29 of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season at the New Jos Stadium.
David Onovo had opened the scoring in the 20th minute following a scramble from a corner kick. Fifteen minutes later, Barbara’s Daniel made it two after the goalkeeper parried the ball and he pounced on the loose ball from a free-kick as the first half ended 2-0.
Upon resumption of second half, Sunday Anthony made it 3-0 in the 47th minute to score his first goal of the season and with the game about to end, Bernard Mumbi scored in the 92nd minute as the game ended 4-0.
The goals guided the ‘Peace Boys’ to a commanding win over the struggling ‘Savannah Tigers’, who now drop to the bottom half of the NPFL table.
In the second match of the day, Remo Stars defeated Akwa United 2-1.
Emmanuel Adebayo scored in the 39th minute while Alimi Sikiru made it 2-0 from the penalty spot.
Meanwhile, Heartland FC will play host to Sporting Lagos while Shooting Stars meet Kano Pillars.
