Plateau State out of nationwide tourism gains

It baffles me when Plateau State, tagged as the home of peace and tourism, is being neglected and less recognised by tourists, nationwide. In fact, it is no longer being reckoned with among the appropriate states for tourism by tourists both at home and abroad.

The state is not only blessed by the name ‘plateau’, but it is filled with hills, valleys and mountains, as well as amazing rock formations and water springs.

The Wase Rock, located in Wase LGA, has a striking resemblance to the Olumo Rock in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Their physical structures are identical.

We also have the Shere Hills in Jos. The hill is known for picnics, celebrations and outings.

Aside from rocks and hills, which Plateau State is massively blessed with, there are also other interesting sites that can attract tourists.

I want to implore the federal and state governments to please invest in the tourism sector to make it more attractive.  It should address the insecurity bedevilling the state to enable tourists, both from far and near, to come to the state.
