The rate of human rights abuses in Plateau State is on the rise as it recorded over 1007 cases in 2021, superseding that of past years.
According to the data obtained by Daily Trust from the Plateau State office of the National Human Rights Commission, the rate of gender-based violence is getting more frequent in the state.

According to the commission, many of the rights abuse cases were based on the cultural practices of the people of the state, especially the rights of inheritance.
