The Plateau state chapter of Muslim Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MMPN) has said the demise of a season broadcaster,  Alhaji Mahmoon Baba-Ahmad who passed on Thursday after a protracted illness as a monumental loss.

The Association in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Buhari Bukar Bello and Secretary, Muhammad Tanko Shitu said the the journalism profession has lost a great scholar, an educator, a columnist and a literature of letters.

"He was a quintessential journalist, a fair, objective media guru whose lives of practice had not only stood for the upholds of the ethics, but had also mentored and brought lots of us into limelight of the profession of journalism," it added.

The statement added that Baba, as commonly referred to, was a fearless professional, a great patriot, nationalist and a honest personality, who had lived life full of exemplary legacies, that trended on fears of Allah, "and to us his dead was a monumental loss."

"The entire Muslim practitioners here in Plateau State, heartily and sadly commiserate with the Government and good people of Kaduna State".
