The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has tasked parents to ensure good moral upbringing and education of their children, saying such morals will ensure the desired peace and security in Nigeria.
The Secretary General of JNI, Khalid Aliyu Abubakar, made the admonishment during the closing ceremony of the 35th Annual Qur’anic Recitation Competition of the Plateau State chapter of JNI.
Abubakar said, “Parents must endeavour to ensure that they give their children the best moral upbringing, and also ensure that they adequately educate them.
He explained that security was the backbone of the socio, economic and political development of any nation, urging Nigerians to fervently pray for the stability of the country.
In his remarks, the guest speaker, Sheikh Mansur Isa Yelwa, emphasised on the need for Muslims to put into practice the teachings of the Qur’an.
Ustaz Abdullatif Yunus won the male category of the competition with 99.2 per cent, while Ms Maryam Abubakar Aliyu won the female category with 87.4 per cent.
Daily Trust further reports that the 2021 JNI National Quranic Competition will hold in February in Kano State.
