Plateau guber election: Why Useni should not go to court – APC Chieftain

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Mr Jock Alamba has urged the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Jeremiah Useni not to approach the tribunal to challenge the result of the election.

Useni in a press conference rejected the outcome of the Plateau governorship election and promised to reclaim his mandate at the election tribunal.

In an interview with Daily Trust in Jos on Thursday, Alamba, who also serves as Deputy Welfare Secretary of APC said that Useni shouldn’t go to court because Governor Simon Lalong won his second term in a free, fair and credible election.

He said, “The news that Governor Lalong won his second term didn’t come to me as a surprise, because right from time Lalong was a God’s made, he came full of goodwill and has improved the condition of Plateau state. He won free, fair and credible and he is going to excel in his second term.”

Alamba also added that even if Useni go to court his case wouldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.

He said, “It is very rare for politicians to lose election gallantly, so Useni’s rejection of the outcome of the election didn’t come to me as a surprise, but I want Useni to know Lalong won free and fair.

“I respect Jerry Useni but he fell into the temptation of not accepting that he lost the election, but I can’t see a light in the tunnel for Useni if he put his case before the court of law.”
