The Plateau Police Command has created a new Divisional Police Headquarters in Bashar, a town in the Wase Local Government Area of the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, while commissioning the new headquarters in Bashar, said the creation of the new police headquarters in the area was in response to the incessant crime within that part of the LGA.

The commissioner, however, called on the community to give the Divisional Police Officer and other personnel posted to the Division all the necessary support that they will need to accomplish the mission of the command, adding that giving timely and useful information to the police at all times would help nip in the bud the activities of criminals in the area
The CP used the opportunity to assure the state that he would do everything in his power to ensure that all police stations and posts that had been closed would be reopened, as this will ensure proper security coverage around the state
The police boss further assured residents of the state that the patrol vehicles that had been provided by members of the community would be put to proper use.
Moreso, he told members of the community that security was everybody’s business, emphasizing that they should always be security conscious as they go about their lawful business.
