Stunned by the early goal, Kano Pillars made quick incursions into their opponents’ half and were duly rewarded for their efforts in the 26th minute through Ifeanyi Kelvin who levelled the score as Abia Warriors conceded their 12th goal at home this season.
With the aim to move far away from the relegation zone, Warriors led for the second time in the game through Emmanuel Onu who exquisitely dispatched the ball beyond the reach of Joshua Enaholo.
Not done, the industrious Godwin Obaje got his name on the score sheet in the 70th minute to make it 3-1 and with time winding down, Pillars got a second in a text-book fashion. Rabiu Ali’s pass over the top with the outside of his boot is finished brilliantly by Auwalu Ali Malam.
But that was not enough for Pillars as the game ended 3-2.
