All is not well in the camp of former Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars, as some of their key players have left to team up with other clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
As the NPFL clubs prepare for the new season, those who have the wherewithal have invaded the camp of the former champions to lure away some of their star players.
While Plateau United have taken away ace goalkeeper, Suraju Ayeleso and Victor Dennis, Rivers United have signed inspirational attacking winger, Auwalu Ali Malam and burly forward Nyima Nwagua.
Others are left wing back Chris Madaki who has joined Nasarawa United and Cameroonian international, Ngweni Ndasi
The mass exodus in Pillars is not coming as a surprise because the ‘Masu gida’ boys have failed to pick a continental ticket in the 2021 football season.
Although one of the most motivated clubs in the NPFL, Pillars couldn’t defend the Aiteo/Federation Cup title and managed to finish sixth in the NPFL.
Consequently, at the end of the season, the management of the club decided to demote the technical adviser, Coach Ibrahim Musa to the position of Head Coach.
