Pillars’ Fans Club partners Kano NDLEA to combat hooliganism

The supporters club of leading Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Kano Pillars, have entered into partnership with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Command, to tackle the menace of hooliganism in football.

The Chairman and members of the Fans Club paid a courtesy visit to the State Commander of Kano State NDLEA, Abubakar Ahmad Idris, to solicit his support in tackling the growing rate of hooliganism in the NPFL.

The visit which came a few days before Pillars’ return to the Sani Abacha Stadium for the first time since the commencement of the ongoing NPFL season centered on ways to deal with issues of security and drug abuse among the fans.

The Chairman of Pillars Fans Club, Alhaji Rabiu Abdullahi Kawo, promised to partner with the Kano NDLEA Command to educate the players, fans and football administrators on the ills of drug abuse.

On his part, the State Commander, who was represented by Deputy State Commander, Aliyu Isa Dabo, welcomed members of the club and lauded their initiative.

He pledged the Command’s readiness to collaborate with the fans’ club in eradicating drug abuse and other social vices.

The Officer in Charge of Sports, NDLEA, Kano State Command, Uba Jamilu Mohammad, said the highlight of the visit was the presentation of the Kano Pillars fans’ jersey to the Commander.
