Pigeon caught trying to smuggle a cellphone into a prison

A carrier pigeon has been caught trying to smuggle a cell phone and USB stick into a jail in Colombia. Guards at the Combita prison in Boyaca province spotted the bird inside the jail and noticed it had a bulky package strapped to its body(circle). The prison officers captured the bird and recorded the moment they removed the phone from its back. The bag attached to the pigeon is then opened to reveal the phone and USB stick. While the incident may seem bizarre, it is not the first time a pigeon has been used to smuggle contraband into jails.Birds have been used to carry cocaine and cannabis into prisons in central and South American in recent years.
