A Niger State-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), International Centre for Reproductive Sexual Rights (INCRESE), has secured $5,000 from a Spanish organisation, Mundo Cooperante, as COVID-19 palliative for persons living with disabilities in the state.
The Executive Director of, INCRESE, Cesnabmihilo Dorothy Nuhu, disclosed this at the weekend during a sensitisation programme on COVID-19 and distribution of palliatives to adolescents with disabilities in Minna, saying it was aimed at cushioning the impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable groups in the state.

Ms. Nuhu explained that the beneficiaries consisted people between the ages of 10 and 19 with ailments such as leprosy, blindness, spinal cord injury and other disabilities in the three local government areas of Chanchaga, Bosso and Shiroro.
She added that beneficiaries were identified through screening, and that each of them got packages worth N25,000 which included rice, palm oil, milk, noodles, sanitiser, face masks, salt, soap and related domestic items.
