The Awolowo matriach, Chief Mrs. HID Awolowo was buried today in grand style at her Ikenne home in Ogun State today.

Until her death, she was the wife to the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the first Premier of Western Region and one of Yoruba’s foremost politician who became the first government official to introduce free education in all public institutions in the South West region from primary to university education.
