Kayode Fayemi has bowed out of office after completing his tenure as governor of Ekiti State.
First elected in 2010, Fayemi lost his reelection bid in 2014, after which President Muhammadu Buhari appointed him a minister a year later.
However, he resigned in 2018 to contest the governorship seat, which he won and ended his tenure earlier on Sunday.
Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, who succeeded Fayemi was inaugurated at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado Ekiti, on Sunday.
The inauguration was attended by APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Governors Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), among others.
Ministers, senators, diplomats, traditional rulers and other dignitaries were also in attendance.
Residents turned out en masse for the colorful occasion.
