The former emir returned to Kano after his deposition by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, a development which has led to  some controversies.

On Friday, there were reports that he would be at the mosque where Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, Emir of Kano, will lead prayer.

However, the police dismissed the report.
