PHOTOS: After Daily Trust Report, Kano Begins Refuse Cleaning

Two days after a report was published by Daily Trust on the poor waste management in Kano, the ancient city has begun cleaning and clearing refuse sites.

Daily Trust had earlier reported that since Kano state government employed a private waste management group, Capegate, some 10 months ago, the city had moved to the top of the list of dirtiest states in the country.

It was gathered that several factors contributed to the poor development, but that most significant factor was the lack of legislation authorising the group to collect waste levies and tax.
