At least 7 persons have been declared missing while several houses and farm lands have been submerged by flood in Mashegu and Magama Local Government Areas of Niger State.
Daily Trust gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Friday.
Affected communities include Sabon pegi in Mashegu LGA and Nassarawa of Magama LGA.
Alhaji Abdullah Baba Arah, Director General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, while confirming the incident, said hundreds of houses and large hectares of farm lands were affected.

He said the flooding was caused by torrential rainfall.
“It is true Nsema received reports of flood disasters in Mashegu and Magama LGAs. The flood was caused by torrential rainfall that lasted through the early hours of Friday, 30th August (2 am to 12 pm).
“Seven People have been declared missing, over 89 houses were affected, hundreds of hectares of farm lands, and 3 vehicles washed away”, he said.
