Suspected miscreants known as ‘Shila Boys’ have hacked a local vigilante member to death in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Abdulmalik Saleh was reportedly killed by a group of men who attacked him at about 10pm on Monday while he was returning from a shop in Anguwan Tabo neighbourhood.
Eyewitnesses said Abdulmalik was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood with a stab wound on his head before he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Yola where he died on Tuesday.
A resident, Buba Yola, said phone snatchers locally known as Shila Boys could have been responsible for the murder of the 23-year-old Abdulmalik.
When contacted, the Police spokesperson in Adamawa, DSP Sulaiman Ngurore, said the matter had not yet been reported to the police, urging members of public to always report suspicious persons to the nearest security post.
