Phone ‘snatcher’ knocked down while crossing road in Kano

A man reportedly attempting to snatch a phone has been knocked down by a car while crossing Zoo Road in Kano State.

The Kano State Police Command spokesman, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident on his social media handles on Sunday evening.

“Now I received a report from Zoo Road that someone took a woman’s phone. He was crossing the road when a car hit him. We need to take him to the hospital,” said Kiyawa.

Kiyawa in an update on the incident said the suspect was receiving medical attention following injuries he sustained.

He said, “After we took (the man who stole the phone) to the hospital, he was moving a bit, his spine was broken and his head was cracked”, adding that the hospital was thinking of taking him to the emergency department.
