Former Edo State deputy governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has led other legacy coalition of the Peoples Democratic Party and their supporters to officially join the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the September 21, governorship election.
The legacy group decampees which comprised the PDP members of Board of Trustee (BOT), Charles Idahosa, two former Edo Assembly speakers, Hon Kabir Adjoto, and Frank Okiye, PDP woman leader, Aisosa Amandasu, governorship aspirants in the PDP primaries and hundreds of others, are aggrieved party members led by suspended PDP national Vice Chairmen, Chief Dan Orbih, in the state.
Speaking for the group, Shaibu who was received by APC National Chairman, Dr. Umaru Ganduje, said they were joining the party to add value and take Edo state back to the people.
“On behalf of the legacy coalition, we are here today to officially joined the APC. We are here to take our state back to the people”

Shaibu warmly received by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, whom he described as his father.
Recall that a Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday reinstated Shaibu as the deputy governor of Edo after he was impeached by the state House of Assembly over alleged misconduct.
On Thursday, Shaibu and Senator Monday Okpebholo, APC governorship candidate, were attacked on airport road in Benin City, on arrival from Abuja.
A police officer was shot dead in the attack.
