A philanthropist, Mr Yusuf Yahaya-Kwande, has donated 205 pieces of collapsible walking canes to students and teachers of the FCT School of the Blind, Jabi, Abuja.
Presenting the items on Wednesday, Yahaya-Kwande, who doubles as the founder, Yahaya-Kwande Foundation, said the gesture was in collaboration with his brother, Jemilu, and group of friends.
Yahaya-Kwande said the gesture aimed at alleviating the suffering of the visually impaired students of the school, adding that it would improve the living condition of the beneficiaries.
‘‘We embarked on this mission as a commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who are going through unique challenges.

‘‘This gesture goes far beyond the physical canes; it symbolises a recognition of the potential of these students.
‘’I also believe in their ability to thrive in spite of their visual impairment,’’ he said.
Yahaya-Kwande, who vowed to support the students to attain their full potential in life, also promised to donate some laptops to the school before the end of 2024.
