A-21 day ultimatum given to the PHCN management by the workers will expire next week. The workers are calling for the immediate payment of monetization arrears from 2003-2009; immediate payment of the balance of 150 percent salary increase and the absorption and regularization of the present casual holding.
Addressing newsmen in Kaduna, the Assistant General Secretary of the North West zone of the union, Comrade Moses I Amedu said they are not going back on the proposed strike should the PHCN fail to meet their demands by next week. “The government of this country is only interested in how to sell PHCN to their cronies instead of generating enough power to meet the demands of the nation,’’ he stressed.
