The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) has sealed 321 medicine shops in Bayelsa State over their inability to maintain standard practices and for lacking the requisite knowledge to handle medicines.
The Registrar of PCN, Pharmacist Elijah Mohammed represented by the Director of Inspection and Monitoring in the council, Pharmacist Anthonia Aruya, disclosed this yesterday in Yenagoa while speaking with newsmen at the end of a weeklong inspection exercise in the state.
He said observations from the field revealed that many people go into sale of medicines without following due process, others do not have the requisite knowledge or skills to handle medicines or are operating beyond their approved scope.
