More than 99 percent of private hospitals in Nigeria run unregistered pharmacies.
The national chairman and secretary of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Adewale Oladigbolu and Ezeh Ambrose, in a statement Sunday, said those hospitals lacked pharmacists to superintend dispensing and counselling of drug-related endeavours.

They said this is contrary to the Poison and Pharmacy Act.
The association was reacting to a statement by the Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Tajudeen Sanusi, that private hospitals in Nigeria were the centres of unrestricted and unchecked creation of sub-professional cadres in healthcare.
