The Port Harcourt Literary Society has appointed Mr Chijioke Amu-Nnadi, an award winning poet and a deputy director in the Niger Delta Development Commission, as resident poet of the Society.
This is coming on the heels of a recent honour from the Association of Nigerian Authors, Rivers State chapter for his contributions to literature.
Presenting the appointment letter and keys to his office during a brief ceremony at the NDDC headquarters, Chidinma Ubakanwa, Programme Coordinator of Port Harcourt Literary Society, underlined the need to provide mentorship for young writers.
The Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of ANA, Mr Uzo Nwamara described Amu-Nnadi as one of the best poets in Africa.
Accepting his new role, Amu-Nnadi promised to live up to the expectations of the literary society.
