The Stardust actress picked a white shift dress with silver heels for the Cinema Society screening, where she admitted she had no plans to wear one of her costumes from the 20s period drama.

“They’re beautiful to look at, but not so much fun to wear… but they certainly help you to get the feeling of being in another place and time,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

Kathy Bates and Rupert Friend – Michelle’s co-stars in the film – also attended the exclusive event.

“I’ve never worn gowns like that in a film before. It really was a wonderful experience,” revealed Kathy.

Rupert said he had no problems with his costumes.

“We were all wearing costumes of the same era, but I spent most of the movie in pyjamas or dressing gowns so I guess it’s a little bit more comfortable,” he said.

Nikki Blonsky turned up to support Michelle, her Hairspray co-star. “I’m so excited. I haven’t seen Michelle since the Hairspray days so I cannot wait to see her again,” she said.
