PFAN expels NFF scribe, Sanusi, others over anti-union activities

The Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN) has expelled four of its members over what it described as anti-union activities and gross misconduct.

Those affected are the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Dr Sanusi Mohammed, Super Eagles coordinator and Bauchi Football Association chairman, Patrick Pascal, Anambra State Football Association FA chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi and ex-international and player agent, Abdul Sule.

Their expulsion was contained in a letter dated August 17 2022 and signed by PFAN General Secretary, Emmanuel Babayaro.

The letter sighted by our correspondent notified the sports minister, NFF and the NPFL club owners association of the notice of expulsion.

“They have been expelled for anti-union activities and gross misconduct. The public service announcements have become necessary after all efforts to serve them personally have been unsuccessful,” the letter stated.

Meanwhile, Pascal has said he is unperturbed by the action of PFAN because he and the other affected persons were not members of the association.

“We are not members of PFAN. We left a long time ago and how can they suspend those who are not their members? Is that not a joke?” he queried.

The Bauchi State FA Chairman further said they are members of the All Nigeria Players Football Union (ANPFU) affiliated with the NFF.
