Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently announced the repatriation of 4,600 culturally significant items, including textiles, ceramics, and clothing, back to Peru. These artefacts were returned from various countries, such as the United States, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.
The collaborative efforts between Peru’s Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local authorities, consulates, and embassies facilitated the return of these items to their country of origin. Among the repatriated artefacts, 4,556 belonged to the collection of the late American archaeologist and anthropologist John Rowe.
