The National Chairman of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Uche Secondus, on Friday vowed that the party would resist any form of rigging and declaration of fictitious results in the coming elections.
Secondus spoke in Makurdi at the PDP presidential campaign.
“The leaders of the APC in Benue are threatening to use the Police and military to rig the Benue elections, they should be prepared for the grave consequences. We will not allow or accept any rigged result,” he said.
He also called on the federal government to set up an enquiry to probe the recent comment of the Kaduna State governor, Nasir El’Rufai, who threatened that foreigners could be returned to their countries in body bags if they meddled in the election.
Secondus added, “if the government fails to do that, we urge the International Criminal Court (ICC) to arrest Governor El’Rufai immediately for issuing that threat.”
The PDP national chairman however assured party supporters at the rally that there would be no more killings in the country, particularly in Benue if the PDP takes control of power at the federal level, stressing, that the PDP government will shift headquarters of poverty to another country.
On his part, Governor Samuel Ortom, expressed confidence that the Benue people would unanimously cast their votes for Atiku to be the next president of Nigeria so that he will end hunger and diseases in the country.
He described the former vice president as a detribalized Nigerian who has the capacity to deliver the country from the shambles currently bedevilling it, adding that Atiku would create jobs for the teeming youths who are not in any way lazy.
“You will do the right thing when you come. We believe that you will secure Benue and Nigeria as a country. There will be no more killings in the country and the non-respect for the rule of law will be eradicated,” Ortom posited.
