PDP supporters join NNPP in Jigawa

The Jigawa State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Monday received some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into its fold.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, a former Special Assistant on Media to Governor Sule Lamido, Lawan Kazaure, said they dumped PDP for NNPP due to political inconsistency, nepotism and lack of clear direction in their former party.

He explained that they have been calling and drawing the attention of party leaders to abide by democratic tenets and spirit of national patriotism but they refused to listen to the advice.

Speaking at the handing over of the party’s new secretariat to the newly elected party state executive, the chairman caretaker committee of the party, Senator Musa Bako Aujara, said the new executive emerged through democratic processes, free and fair election.

He said NNPP has established a formidable structure in Jigawa State with the capacity to clinch power from APC in the state by 2023.
