PDP Primaries: Upset as former Imo SSG defeats incumbent Senator

A former Secretary to Imo State Government, Uche Onyeagucha, has emerged Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP,) candidate for Imo East senatorial zone for the 2023 election.

He defeated incumbent Senator, Ezenwa Onyewuchi, in the election which ended in the early hours of Friday.

Delegates’ List: PDP suspends primaries in Imo

Onyeagucha polled 134 votes while Onyewuchi trailed with 110 votes. Another contestant, Basil Maduka, polled 64 votes.

For Orlu zone, Jones Onyererii got the ticket with 221 votes. In Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, Fagulanna Chinedu, defeated Bede Eke to emerge winner while in Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, Osmond Ukanacho won with 66 votes.

In Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Mbaise federal constituency, Emeka Chinedu was retuned unopposed.

For Imo House of Assembly, Kingsley Odionyenma won in Ngor Okpala state constituency while in Ikeduru, former deputy speaker, Okey Onyekanma won with 36 votes.
