Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin, has said the party was preparing grounds to reclaim federal power and win 90 percent of states in the 2023 general election.
The PDP lost power at the centre in 2015, after reigning for 16 years.

But Jibrin, in a text message to our correspondent on Wednesday, said if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the President Muhammadu Buhari -led administration guarantee free and credible polls, the PDP would win elections and return the nation’s “lost glory.”
Jibrin said the PDP’s administration, if voted again, would tackle the security situation in the country and address infrastructure deficit in the country.
“After our victory in Edo state, PDP now controls 16 states while APC controls 19.
“This is, therefore, a good sign that PDP is on its way to control over 90% of the states in Nigeria if INEC continues to conduct free, fair and credible elections.
“In oder to allow us capture power, PDP is in full reconciliation in all the states to make the party intact with no unnecessary dismissals.
“Our door is always open to everyone to join the party and members to continue remaining in the party.
“It’s obvious that there is no party that will govern Nigeria very well, but the PDP.
“So, all Nigerians must follow the path of Edo state and must be fully ready for 2023,” he said.
