The PDP has been described as a simple political party and not a religion that will take its supporters to heaven.
Governor Nasir El’rufai’s political adviser, Honorable Ben Kure made the comment at a meeting with other tribes under a group called Kabilu Unified Forum based in Cikun LGA of the state.

According to him, PDP’s glory has long departed and that the party can never be relevant again in the state.
He called on the people, particularly those from the southern part of the state where he said the PDP still exists to change their mindset and be loyal to the ruling party to enable them enjoy more dividends of democracy in the area.
Kure further cautioned the ordinary southern Kaduna people not to allow some selfish individuals from the zone to mislead them against the ruling party, saying already some PDP members from the zone had defected to APC after realising that their communities had not benefited any dividends of democracy in the last 16 years of PDP governance in the state.
He also advised against giving consideration to selfishness and sentiment as yardsticks to elect people into offices as no political party is a religion, urging them to vote for only those who will bring development to their areas.
In a swift reaction, the PDP Secretary in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu Wosono said the governor’s aide only expressed his opinion as guaranteed by the constitution of the country.
Wosono said APC cannot convince the people of the state particularly those from Southern Kaduna because of the failure to secure and develop those in the area.
“Whatever he (Ben) said, he thinks he can convince the people of Southern Kaduna where 99 percent of them are PDP supporters and it’s wrong for a leader to make such a statement,” he said.
Wosono, who advised the ruling party to seek for the support and votes of the people instead of abusing and castigating them said APC could not compare its achievements to those of PDP in the state.
