PDP is united, only part of it not functioning well – Ologbodiyan

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organization and former national publicity secretary of the party, Kola Ologbodiyan, has said the party is united, but only a section of it is not functioning well.

Ologbodiyan stated this during a chat with Arise TV on Saturday, regarding the recent developments within the party.

The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, recently said he had moved on, and was no longer worried about the crisis rocking the party.
While remarking on that, the former PDP publicity secretary said Atiku did not mean there will no longer be room for any reconciliation.

He said, “I don’t want anybody to read meaning into what Atiku Abubakar has said. In moving on with his campaign, he doesn’t mean he has foreclosed all the doors for reconciliation. I don’t want to go away with that, and I don’t want anybody to go away with that.

“We have consistently said that look, we have a campaign that is going on, but at any point in time when there’s a need to open the doors for reconciliation, the doors remain open.”

Ologbodiyan further stated that no other presidential candidate has demonstrated unity and inclusiveness like Atiku.

“Among the array of Nigerians vying to be the president of Nigeria in 2023, Atiku Abubakar stands out if you talk about unity. His body language, his character, his experience in governance speaks of somebody who has array of Nigerians of different shades around him.

“No other candidate, none among the remaining parties would do fine among all groups, all dimensions, all dispositions of Nigeria as a nation represented in him. It’s a clear fact.

“People say, ‘Well, he has not unified his party but he wants to unify Nigeria,’ but who told you that he has not unified his party? He has unified his party.

“Even in the family system, where children of the same parents live together, you still can have those who disagree among themselves. It doesn’t remove the fact that the family is united. It doesn’t.

“And the fact that a part of the body of the party isn’t functioning well, does not remove the unity of the whole body. It doesn’t at all.”
