The newly inaugurated Disciplinary Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been urged to sanction Senator Dino Melaye, the party’s governorship candidate in the recent Kogi State election, over his remarks that the party is “dead.”
The Coalition of PDP Professionals stated that the committee could make a significant impact on the party’s recovery from its current crises by addressing members like Melaye.
In a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday, the group called on the committee’s chairman, Chief Tom Ikimi, PDP’s acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, and Kogi State party leaders to consider imposing severe sanctions on Melaye for his recent comments against the PDP.
The statement, signed by the coalition’s President, Engineer Abdulraheem Garba, and Publicity Secretary, Mr Gabriel Segun Adekoya, revealed that they are preparing a memorandum recommending Melaye for disciplinary action.
